Camp lightly

For a few weeks each summer, we open carefully managed areas of our wildlife-rich wetlands and meadows.

Pitches are generously spaced across the landscape, allowing families, couples and solo campers to enjoy the simple pleasures of campfire cooking, dark skies and waking to birdsong. With ancient woodland, winding streams and open meadows to explore, it's camping as it used to be—peaceful, unhurried and close to nature.

If you're looking for electric hook-ups and entertainment, we're probably not for you. But if you're seeking quiet, wildlife and a chance to unplug from everyday life, we'd love to welcome you.

Here the soundtrack is birdsong, the crackle of campfires and the rustle of reeds in the breeze. Mobile reception exists if you need it, but many guests choose to switch off for a while and enjoy the simple rhythm of life outdoors.

Rates

£25 per pitch, per night (1 tent, up to 4 people included).
Additional people (maximum 2 per pitch): £8 per adult / £4 per child.
If your group is bringing more than one tent, please book one pitch per tent. Larger families, groups with multiple tents, or campervans are very welcome—just get in touch and I'll help you choose the best options.

Meet Matilda

Our beautiful vintage Cheltenham Sable has arrived at Glottenham for a little summer adventure.

Sleeping two, Matilda sits beneath a beautiful willow tree beside the stream, with her own shady spot in our small summer camping field. She’s cosy, characterful and just a little bit nostalgic — the perfect way to enjoy Glottenham without having to pitch a tent.

There’s a gas stove, vintage crockery, basic cooking equipment, seating beneath the awning and everything you need for a simple, slow few days in the countryside.

£75 per night for two people.

Matilda is here for three weeks only, so if you fancy a vintage summer escape, don’t leave it too long.
