A secluded escape for two

Hidden away in its own peaceful corner of the farm, De Etchyngham is a private retreat where contemporary design meets the quiet beauty of the surrounding landscape.

Named after the medieval family who once owned Glottenham, de Etchyngham blends mid-century design with the simplicity of outdoor living.

Expansive windows frame the changing seasons, while warm timber, vintage furniture and a wood-burning stove create an inviting space to slow down and unwind.

Wake to birdsong, spend the day exploring ancient woodland and wildlife-rich wetlands, then return to cook beneath the covered outdoor kitchen and watch the stars emerge over the valley. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply escaping together, De Etchyngham offers space, privacy and time to reconnect.

We had a fantastic stay for our honeymoon

“ - the ecopod was warm, cozy and beautifully decked out with 1970s furnishings. It was really secluded so perfect for a chilled romantic break in the countryside. We didn't want to leave.”

Made for unhurried days

De Etchyngham sits apart from the rest of the accommodation, giving you the rare feeling of having this corner of the landscape almost to yourselves. Read in the morning sunshine, wander through the woods, share long lunches overlooking the valley and spend the evening around the campfire as owls begin to call. It's a place where time slows, and simple moments become memorable.
